2025 edition World Watch Day

2026: Watchmaking as Living Heritage

Following the success of its inaugural edition, which reached more than six million people worldwide, World Watch Day returns in 2026 with renewed ambition: to unite the global watchmaking community around a shared passion and a heritage that continues to inspire, evolve, and endure.

For the first time, the celebration is built around a central theme: "Watchmaking as Living Heritage." Watchmaking is far more than a craft preserved from the past. It is a living culture, shaped every day by the people who create it, practice it, collect it, study it, share it, and pass it on. Collectors, content creators, retailers, brands, journalists, artisans, watchmakers, educators, and enthusiasts alike - everyone has a role to play in this worldwide celebration.

Building on a Remarkable First Edition

The inaugural World Watch Day proved the power of a simple, unifying idea. Its hybrid format, digital and physical, global and local, brought events, exhibitions, and gatherings to more than 25 countries simultaneously, generating an estimated reach of over six million people under the hashtag #WorldWatchDay.

From an exhibition opening at exactly 10:10 at the Museum of Art and History in Geneva, to open doors at the Horological Society of New York in Manhattan, thematic tours at the International Watchmaking Museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds, conferences in Paris and the Vallée de Joux, gatherings in Lisbon, Stockholm, Shanghai, and Istanbul, and church bells chiming at 10:10 across Besançon and other French towns. The first edition wrote the opening page of a new collective story: dynamic, inclusive, and open to all.

Make 10/10 Yours

The official hashtag, #WorldWatchDay, belongs to the entire community. On October 10, make it your platform for sharing, storytelling, and celebration. Revisit the memory of your first watch, showcase a cherished timepiece, honor those who introduced you to this passion, or reflect on your personal relationship with time. Your voice is part of the story.
